KEYNOTE

ACHIEVEMENT IS ARMOR

A keynote for high-achieving leaders who have learned to use success to hide what makes them powerful, and are ready to see it differently.

WHY IT MATTERS

Achievement can become proof. Proof that you belong. Proof that you're capable. Proof that the thing you've been managing, minimizing, or hiding doesn't matter.

But achievement doesn't necessarily change the story underneath it. Sometimes it just makes that story harder to see.

THE EXPERIENCE

Six stories, one thread. From a kindergarten playground to a boardroom overseeing hundreds of millions in revenue, Kristy traces what happens when achievement, identity, difference, and belonging become intertwined, and what changes when you begin to see the thing you've been managing differently.

THE FRAMEWORK

G — R — O — W

G GET CURIOUS

Gain the insight. Examine what you've been managing instead of automatically working around it.

O OWN YOUR EDGE

‍ Consider what the thing you've been minimizing may have taught you, built in you, or made possible.

R REFRAME

Redirect. See it differently, then choose where to put your energy next.

w walk through

‍ Walk toward. Turn insight into movement by taking the next step toward what matters.

G-R-O-W gives audiences a practical way to examine their own hidden hand, and a language they can take back to their work, teams, and lives.

WHY KRISTY

Kristy Eckman spent 22 years at New Balance, most recently as General Manager of Key Accounts, with responsibility across a $400M+ wholesale and digital business and a seat on the North America Leadership Team.

Born without most of her right hand, Kristy brings lived experience to a question she now explores through The Hidden Hand Movement: what happens when the thing you've spent years managing becomes something you're willing to examine, and potentially own?
